864395T01 Mercury Mercruiser Heat Exchanger
Offered is our drop in replacement for the Mercruiser 864395T01 Mercruiser Heat Exchanger This includes the heat exchanger, end caps with gaskets and zinc. This part is made with OEM equivalent materials and is guaranteed for fit and function.
There are two configurations:
Currently we show two different configurations of this base part number 864395. One has a hose and one does not have a hose.
See picture 2 on this ad. Functionally the 2 configurations are equivalent. But they are not always interchangable as the hose sometimes gets in the way of the belts and the pulleys if you have a non hose version. Non hose can replace a hose version, but we wouldn't recommend a hose version for a non hose version of this part.
WITH HOSE: the hose drains the surge tank into the inbound glycol circuit to the recirculating pump.
WITHOUT HOSE: the glycol is drained from the surge tank (the upper tank in the pictures) via drains under the surge tank that you can't see. It goes right back into the cooling bundle.
This part is a drop in replacement for the Mercruiser heat exchanger 864395T01 and other parts listed below. No modifications are necessary for installation.
This heat exchanger is a front mount (mounts over engine circulation pump) and works for models from 4.3L to 6.2L.
Some details to note:
Surge Tank Configuration
This heat exchanger tank will not be flat on the top. But it still has adequate surge tank volume and we guarantee it will not impinge on any of the enclosures that the engines are found in.
Pad for Air Pump
Our parts have the pad for the air pump. Yours may not have it. The earliest versions of this part do not have the pad for the air pump. If you have the pad that is used to attach your air pump, our heat exchanger pad and threads will allow you to attach the pump. It's visible near the zinc in the pictures. As stated, some earlier models may not have that mounting pad. If it's not on yours, don't worry about any impact on function. Please note that the threads on this pad do not go through to the tank. They are for mounting the air pump only and have no other function.
